WONDERFUL FRENCH ANTIQUE HENRI II STYLE PAINTED ARMOIRE - c.1900
This wonderful French antique armoire dates from around 1900 and is in the Henri II style.
Painted in Farrow and Ball 'Strong White' with 'Purbeck Stone' detail the armoire has been
lightly distressed and given a clear wax finish.
With superb detailed carving throughout featuring
a crest with a shell with scrolls and leaves
with repeating patterns and and finials to each corner.
There are fluted columns either side of the original shaped bevelled
glass mirrored doors which are
in superb condition for their age with very minor blemishes mainly to the edges of the mirror.
The interior is fitted with 4 shelves (although not shown in the pictures) and could be fitted
with hanging rails from front to back inclusive in the price.
There is a useful exterior drawer to the base of the armoire which again has carved
and a ribboned bow the the front and ornate brass handles to the drawer.
The armoire has
been fully treated with a woodworm preventative as a matter of course and is in
strong and sturdy condition
with minor knocks and bumps in keeping with its age.
Measurements 255cm tall (including removeable crest) x width 135cm x Depth 45cms.
The internal depth is 36cm.
