Decorative Antique French Painted Breton Armoire c1900
This very decorative antique French painted Breton armoire dates from around 1900.
The armoire is constructed of oak and chestnut and consists of typical pastoral Breton figures
and carvings to the pediment and the base of the doors with shelving to the interior.
The doors retain their wonderful lock excutcheons with working lock and key.
Though the depth would not allow a hanging rail from left to right, two hanging rails could be
attached from the front to the back behind each door and the shelving could also be incorporated.
The armoire has been painted in a pale cream with a dark wax finish and
dismantles completely for ease of transport/ handling. It is in good solid condition but is an antique
item so there are minor knocks and bumps in keeping with its age.
As with all our wooden items it has been fully treated with a woodworm preventative as a matter of course.
It measures 250cms tall x 123cms wide x 50cms deep x 40 cms internal depth.
