ANTIQUE FRENCH COUNTRY COMTOISE CLOCK c1900

This lovely antique French rustic comtoise clock dating from around 1900 has a pine case which
has been given a wax finish with handpainted leaves and flowers.
The enamel face has decorative has the makers name 'CHARPENTIER a Nort'.
The pressed brass pendulum and clock face surround are in very good condition with wonderful
painted decoration featuring an urn of mixed flowers. The mechanism appears clean and complete,
though we have not tried to get it to work feel confident that it would take only a small amount of work
to do so and has the cast iron weights. The case is in good condition with some minor knocks
and bumps in keeping with its age.
There are some old woodworm holes - long since gone and the case has been fully treated
with a woodworm preventative as a matter of course.

It measures 51cms wide x 21cms deep x 229cms tall.
